My daughter Alura, who is 2 years old, started hyperbaric oxygen treatments a year ago, she has Cerebral Palsy.

We did 20 treatments to see if it would help, I was already working with her on a program from the Institutes of Human Potential, she was deaf and blind, and had no sensation; she couldn't feel if you pricked her with a needle or pinched her. She was always stiff or flaccid, and did nothing but cry all day and night.

After our 6th dive she began looking at us when spoken to, this was a miracle to us. After the 20 treatments we got a girl that who would stare at us and locate sounds, cognitively

She changed a lot. A year later we are doing more treatment, we have done 23 so far and plan to do 60. Again, we are seeing more improvements; she is now using her right arm trying to crawl. She is much more vocal, she is making sounds we have never heard from her before. The other day she held a cheese puff and sucked on it for 10 min, another miracle for us!! She is lifting up her legs and trying to roll, she is trying to reach out and touch everything and bring it to her mouth.

The most I see in change is cognitive, and to a parent with a brain-injured child this is very big for us. Her strabismus has improved greatly, she understands commands, and wants to be involved in everything. She now watches TV and laughs and enjoys what she is watching. We look forward to seeing further improvement with Alura in the future.
