I have been wanting to write and let
everyone know about my experience with HBOT, but life seems
to get in the way when you have twin boys, Michael and Nicholas
(23 months) Michael is a spastic quad cp, failure to thrive,
strabismus, and prior to the HBOT had reflux. We have done
over 50 treatments to date and have seen wonderful things
happening. The best thing that has happened is the reflux
is gone. Michael stopped throwing up after 10 treatments.
He is off all meds, maybe Mylanta occasionally. He definitely
is more verbal now. I feel he is much more alert and knows
his surroundings perfectly. Prior to HBOT, Michael was always
crying and miserable, we had to hold him most of the time.
Now Michael is HAPPY the majority of the time. He can stay
watching videos without any complaints, and the best part
of all he understands and laughs at whatever is funny.
Michael is low tone trunk
and high tone extremities, because of this, he is unable to
sit or crawl yet. Since HBOT he can hold his head up, his
endurance is longer and better. Michael poops better when
doing HBOT, which was always a problem before the treatments
began. Michael is eating better and is slowly gaining some
weight.
We are presently going to
SOUTH FLORIDA CENTER FOR HOPE IN DEERFIELD BEACH, FLORIDA.
I cannot express to anyone out there how wonderful I think
this facility is. I was at the other facility in Ft. Lauderdale
for about 37 treatments, and there is a huge difference. First
of all the staff is extremely experienced in HBOT. Anne has
30 years experience in the medical field; she is an EMT and
a hyperbaric technician. The facility has state-of-the-art
equipment, and if there was a problem they can attend immediately
to the patient.
The best thing about coming
to this place versus the other place, the technician checks
Michaels ears and checks vital signs before and after each
treatment. They take there time with decompression to make
sure Michael doesn't have a problem clearing. This was my
biggest concern about taking Michael to HBOT and so far has
not had any problems. The facility is spotless for cleanliness,
when you walk in it smells clean and very bright, not dungy
and outdated. I see them clean the chamber in and out between
each patient. I always wondered in the other facility; because
I never saw them clean the chamber, only change the sheets.
The ultimate best is happy
coming here. At the other place he was always crying, here
he has not cried once. I went in with Michael for about 40
treatments, and then he started going in alone. He is doing
amazing going in by himself. This place allows me to stay
beside Michael the whole time during his treatment.
