Fibromyalgia is a chronic musculoskeletal disorder characterized by widespread pain, tenderness at specific anatomical sites with clinical manifestations such as fatigue, sleep disturbance and irritable bowel syndrome. 

The aim of Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy in patients with FMS is to reduce muscle hypoxia and increase levels of high-energy phosphate, breaking the pain –hypoxia cycle.
