Pre and Post Cosmetic Surgery
After any surgical procedure there is tissue that has undergone trauma. All surgeons know that oxygen helps boost the health of every cell and supports the healing process.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a mainstream medicinal method, recognized by Medicare to heal wounds.
All cosmetic surgical procedures such as Hair Restoration, Rhytidectomy (face lift), Abdominoplasty, Liposuction, reduction or augmentation Mammoplasty can all benefit from Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT).
Many progressive cosmetic surgeons use anti-inflammatory medicines and anti-bacterials in conjunction with HBOT after a surgical procedure enabling their patients to return to their active lifestyles in half the time.
To administer the HBOT the patient is placed in a clear acrylic chamber pressurized with 100% oxygen. This allows the oxygen to permeate every cell in the body promoting the white blood cells to kill bacteria and reduce swelling which will help to diminish the pain. HBOT also helps the formation of new blood vessels and collagen production therefore increasing the viability of the surgical site.
