So far, 2010 has been a great year! A sign of HOPE for sure.
The third Annual Surfers for Autism was April 10th and a great time was had by all!
Representing Fund for H.O.P.E was Gary Kaufman our secretary and of course yours truly Michele Weppner (president). Hope Fine from South Florida Center for H.O.P.E. was unable to attend so Gary and I answered as many question as we could about Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. We had a wonderful time seeing old friends and meeting new friends.
We especially want to thank Kim and Don Ryan (the big Kahona), not to mention all the surfers, participants, volunteers and sponsors. You guys rock! Every family there, affected with autism, finally had a day of fun, sun and lots of excitement. The air was filled with happiness and joy as everyone bonded together for a common cause.
Listening to the cheers and screeches of laughter as the kids surfed into the shoreline, gave me goose bumps and brought tears to my eyes. For me it triggerd a natural high generating my body, soul and mind. Oh and the after-glow lasted for several days after the event.
I am so grateful to have met Don and Kim from Surfers for Autism and I have the South Florida Center for H.O.P.E to thank for that.
Last year, while I was being interviewed by Meredith McDonough from channel 12 news regarding the wonderful progress my son was achieving from the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Meredith mentioned Don and his organization. As they say, “the rest is history”.
Again, thanks to all who made Surfers for Autism such an awesome event? You have touched so many lives.
